I've always been a know-it-all.  I drive a lot people a bit crazy.  But I can't seem to help it. When I was a little kid no matter what my parents told me I would always argue - even if I agreed with them.  And I've always been a show-off.  As I've gotten older I've found ways to be more subtle about it, but that's the way I am.  I suppose that has something to do with why I write and direct.

So... here are some of my beliefs, thoughts, experiences, opinions, theories, - whatever you want to call them.  Hopefully most of them are based on my experiences making movies. I fear that in a couple of months I'll reread this and cringe at my wrong-headed pomposity. I tell myself the reason I write down my thought is to find clarity.  In a way that's true but I think I just miss making movies and this is a way to feel like a director - you know, like when people aren't having sex, they talk about it all the time.  

And though my friends would laugh hearing this, I desperately crave guidance and inspiration. Putting these thoughts to paper was an attempt to create that for myself. Hopefully you may find something here to help you, or at least amuse you.  Forgive my hubris.

Please assume at the beginning of each line my saying, "I believe that..." or "in my opinion..." or "in my experience I've found..." I'm skipping them for the sake of brevity.
